Museum of the City of Mardin Midyat

The Mardin Midyat City Museum, located in the Midyat district of Mardin, was opened by the Municipality of Midyat and its former function is known to be the inn. This place was built inside the cave. It's an old inn with a lot of shops. This feature was not touched during the repair work. It exhibits pieces from the Sumerian, Akkadian, Mitanni, Hittite, Assyrian, Scythian, Babylonian, Persian, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Seljuk, Artuk and Ottoman periods and is a source of curiosity for antiquarians. The rooms, which were previously used as shops, were given to craftsmen to sell items such as carpets and jewelry made with local techniques.
