Reflecting the atmosphere of a typical Turkish town, the old Muş houses consist of stone structures, usually two stories close together, in narrow streets. In the garden of these houses, which have become a symbol of Muş, there is a large carrot (yard), a tannery, a supply warehouse and seating under trees that serve as tents, and in many of them there is also a barn. The basic building material of houses with flat, earthen roofs is brick. The edges of the windows reveal one of the important elements of our culture, the helmet dome, which carries the Seljuk element from the outside, and when viewed, the helmet appearance clearly manifests itself. The first floor of the two-story houses contains the bathroom, toilet, kitchen and spare room, while the upper floor presents itself as a spacious hall and rooms gathered around the hall. In these halls, there are cedars in front of the windows, made of wood or stone. The wall thickness of the houses (filling walls) is 60 ⁇ 70 cm. Kitchens are one of the most important and spacious places in the house. Inside is a stove (in the form of a niche) with another name, a fireplace. (It's not in some structures. ( to the left ) All the inner walls of the house are plastered with a mixture of hay, goat hair, and dried limestone. Today, it is still possible to find some of these houses, which are facing demolition, in the city center. If you're interested in architectural photography, don't come back from your Muş trip without photographing these beautiful Muş houses.
