Ahlat'a yakışan bir müze olmuş. Özellikle yaklaşık 5 bin yıl öncesine ait eserleri (kap kacak, tencere, güveç vb) görmek heyecan veriyor. Bir çoğu günümüze kadar sağlam kalmış. Giriş öğretmen ve 65 yaş üzeri için ücretsiz. Ücretli giriş 20 TL. Yeterli otopark alanı mevcut.

Müze iki odadan oluşuyor. Sağdaki oda tarih öncesi döneme ait eserler barındırıyorken soldaki oda daha çok eğitici amaçlı metinlerden oluşuyor. Ben severek gezdim, öğrendim. Ahlat'ın tarihini, medeniyetini öğrenmek açısından gidip görmek gerekiyor. Müze ücretli 12.5 TL

Müzekart geçerli. Çok vakit geçirebileceğiniz bir müze değil. En fazla 15 dakikanızı alır. Müze iki kısımdan oluşuyor. Birinci kısımda panolar ve yazılardan başka bir şey yok denebilir. İkinci kısım bölgede çıkarılan eserler kronolojik olarak sıralanmış olarak sergileniyor. Park sorunu yok. Asıl gezilmesi gereken yer müzenin dibinden başlayan Selçuklu mezarlığı. Her ne kadar güzel bir yol yapmış olsalarda eğer hava sıçaksa mezarlığı yürüyerek geçmeyin. Müzeden Ahlat merkeze doğru yola devam edin. Mezarlığın en önemli kısmının orda otopark mevcut.
