The Atatürk Park of Mersin

The park provides hiking enthusiasts with a long hiking trail by the sea. There are flower petals in the inner parts. The Refah Martyrs Monument is located in the most central place. On one side of this monument there are inscriptions related to the Refah Tragedy, on the other side to the Ertuğrul Tragedy. The third percent is the message of the Chief of the General Staff, Fevzi Çakmak. In 2008, the Mersin Congress and Exhibition Palace was built in the eastern part of the park and put into service. The complex, consisting of an artificial lake and three large congress halls, covers an area of 3,160 square meters. To the west of this complex is an open-air theater for 2,000 people.
