The Çankırı Museum
The Chankiri Museum takes you back millions of years with fossils of giraffes, deer, sheep, goats, and many more.
The Çankırı Museum
The museum, created by the restoration of the old Çankırı Government House, consists of 3 main sections: Ethnography Department, Archaeology and Natural History. One of the most important and remarkable parts of the museum, the Natural History Section, contains fossils of animals such as sheep, goats, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, deer, and pigs dating back eight million years. The sword-toothed tiger fossil in the museum is an endemic species of Anatolia and the fossil specimen is the only one in Turkey. The Çankırı Museum, which is one of the most important museum collections in Turkey in terms of glass works, invites you to a multifaceted museum tour.
