When Sultan Suleiman came to Ahlat, after visiting his ancestors, he ordered Mimar Sinan to build a castle, which was later built. There are 350 houses, a mosque, a bath, a tavern, and about twenty shops. Today, only the castle exists, and it is possible to find the remains of the structures inside.
