Geç Roma dönemine ait olan 11 kuleli kale olasılıkla II. Theodisius veya I. Anastasius döneminde Aesepus (Gönen) nehri vadisini korumak için yapılmıştır. Kalenin içi ağaç ve otlarla kaplı olduğundan iç kısımda birşeyler görmek oldukça zor. Kaleyi gören en güzel manzara ise Alacaoluk Köyüne giden yoldan bakmaktır.

çok sapa bir yer, çok issız. Motorla bozuk yoldan neredeyse kaleye kadar gidiliyor. Her zamanki gibi çöp eksik değil. çok görülecek bir şey yok.
