The fortress of Seddulbahir
Located at the southern end of the Galibolu Peninsula, the castle was built in 1659 along with Kumkale on the Anatolian side to defend the entrance to the Çanakkale Strait. The castle has been our first point of defense against attacks from the sea. Because of this feature, it was one of the first targets bombed in the Battle of Çanakkale. It was heavily damaged by bombing during the Battle of Çanakkale; it was almost completely destroyed. Nowadays, it is being rebuilt according to its pre-demolition condition.
