The historical gendarmerie building of Sivas
The Gendarmerie building, which is among the sights of Sivas, is also one of the historical sites of Sivas. It was built as the Gendarmerie Department in 1908 during the reign of Governor Rashid Akif Pasha. On the southeastern facade of this L-shaped structure, which is planned on the east-west and north-south axes, the octagonal and three-storey clock tower stands out.
This historical building of Sivas is arranged as an octagon at the corner where its arms intersect. The main entrance to this octagon is on the south side. Due to the structure of the historic Gendarmerie Building, the entrance was closed because of the danger posed by the stone staircase.
Nowadays, the Sivas Historic Gendarmerie Building is entered through the inner gate. There is also a construction inscription with information about its construction and it is used as a soybean plant.
