The mansion, located on Olive Street, was built in the early 1900s by Banker Kostaki Teophylaktos. Although the architects of the mansion are not exactly known, it is thought that the architects were Italian. Because many of the materials used in the construction were imported from Italy. When the banker Kostaki Teophylaktos went bankrupt in 1917, all his assets were seized along with this mansion and the mansion was bought by the Nemlioğlu Family. The mansion, which was used as a headquarters building during the national struggle, was arranged for Atatürk to stay with his wife Latife Hanım when he first visited Trabzon. During the reign of the governor of Trabzon, Ali Galip Bey, the building, which was used as the Government Palace, was nationalized and later allocated to the Ministry of National Education and served as a Vocational High School for Girls. Finally, it was allocated to the Ministry of Culture in 1987 and, as a result of restoration work, it was opened as the Trabzon Museum in 2001.

Şu an için kapalı.

Trabzon'a gelipte bu şehir müzesini görmeden gitmek yanlış olur.
