The Church of Our Lady, also known by the locals as the Red Church and the Syriac Church, is also noteworthy for its purpose of construction. This building, which is believed to have been built to hide the idols of the pagans inside Harput Castle, is known to have been converted into a church by the Jacobite Christians. This church, which has undergone various repairs to the present day, is also one of our important ancient churches that have managed to survive to the present day.
