It was made during the reign of King Gurgen, the grandson of Ashot, Prince Khaoi. It is built on a ridge that descends from north to south between two valleys, southwest of the village of Pnarallı. The monastery consists of a church, a chapel, a fountain and a bell tower. It is possible to see the houses belonging to the cemetery around it. It was abandoned at the end of the 16th century. The monastery and the houses surrounding it are a fine example of medieval settlement.
