The tomb of Father Rose
This tomb, another Ottoman trace in the city, was built in the name of a poet Bektaşi dervish. Gul Baba, who lived in the 15th and 16th centuries, is said to have been invited to the Buddha by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. It is said that Sultan Suleiman invited Gul Baba, who lived for centuries, to the Buddha. Father Rose, who instilled tolerance in the Buddhist people, was loved by the people there over time. Father Rose, who died during the Battle of Budin, was buried on a high hill where the current shrine is located. The original tomb, built by Mehmet Pasha, was later restored with Turkish-Hungarian cooperation.
