The Tomb of the Long Hasan
The Tomb of the Long Hasan
The Tomb of the Long Hasan is located in the district of Çemişgezek. It is located on a rock just at the entrance of the district. In Tekya, the block is an octagonal structure built on a rock. The mausoleum, made of two layers of cut stone, is covered with a pyramid roof on the inside and outside. Although it is believed to belong to the ruler of Akkoyun, Uzun Hasan, according to the information written in the book of the tomb, it is understood that the tomb was actually built in 1572 for Behlülbey's son Shah Bey and his two sons. During the reign of the Ottoman ruler Yavuz Sultan Selim, the long bones of his body caused him to be known as Long Hasan among the people. The mausoleum has two floors and a burial chamber on the ground floor. It is a distinguished structure that reflects the Seljuk architectural style.
