The Trebević cable car
The Trebević cable car
One of the well-known symbols of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Trebević Cable Car is home to magnificent views of Sarajevo with its lush nature while traveling and at the point of arrival. In Sarajevo, the cable car built by the Czech Republic in 1959 was completely destroyed by Serbian troops during the Bosnian War of 1992-1995. The cable car was rebuilt and opened to service in 2018 and continues to serve between the city center and Mount Trebević today. The Trebević Cable Car, which serves a 2,100-meter-long line, has 33 cabins, each with a capacity of 10 people. The cable car tour, which is among the activities to be done in the center of Sarajevo, takes 7 minutes to travel between the city center and Mount Trebević, and at the arrival station there is a cafe where guests can relax with a view of Sarajevo. There are also very good trails in the mountains for trekking and cycling enthusiasts. With sneakers, a backpack, and something to eat with you, you could spend a whole day here.
