It was founded in 333 BC under the name of Alexandreia, after Alexander the Great's victory near Issus. Before this city was founded, there was a Phoenician city called Myriandos. King Alexander the Great of Macedonia, Sheikh III of Persia. Founded by its dominance of the Isos Valley against Darius, this city has been invaded many times in its history because of its geographical importance.
Around the district there are several resorts with natural beaches and plateaus. The district center is developing in a planned way in accordance with the understanding of contemporary urbanism.
