Although the cultural data of Chorum dates back to 7,000 years ago, it is still the cultural heart of Chorum, especially the center of the Hittites, who became the first organized state. The Hittite civilization is at least as rich and old as ancient Egypt. The tablets of the Kadesh Treaty between the Hittites and Egypt are in Boğazköy; the place of Alacahöyük Ören, also one of the religious centers of the Hittites; the Hatti Sun Course; the Sphinx Gate; the Tomb of the 13 Kings is one of the notable stops.
Çorum, which is world-renowned for its quality rice produced in the famous Leblebisi, Osmancık and Kargı ⁇ , is located in the inner part of the Central Black Sea section. It is culturally and historically remarkable for its excavations that shed light on the history of Anatolia and for being the center of the great Hittite State.
