Republic Square and the National Museum (Trg Republike and Narodni muzej)
Republic Square is the most familiar place as the central square in Belgrade. Republic Square is home to the National Museum, the National Theatre, and the Prince Mihailo statue, as well as some of Belgrade's best-known public buildings. The square was built between 1866 and 1869. At first, only the National Theatre was located in the Republic Square, so the square was initially called Theatre Square.
