Suleymaniye and Vefa

Established on the third hill of Istanbul and named after the Süleymaniye Mosque, the Süleymaniye neighborhood of Haliç Nazır has a wide view. Although the Sulaymaniye neighborhood was a popular neighborhood for the wealthy when it was first established, it lost its former importance after the 20th century and became more of a neighborhood for people who came to Istanbul from outside and did not have enough economic status. Vefa, located in the west of Süleymaniye, is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Istanbul. You should not leave the Vefa district without drinking beer, where you can find traces of history in the narrow streets that stretch from Süleymaniye Külliyesi ⁇ to Unkapı bazaar.
