Notre Dame Cathedral, one of the most important buildings in Paris, was designed in a Gothic architectural style and was built on the banks of the Seine River in about 150 years. It is named after the Virgin Mary. The location of the cathedral is also considered sacred to the Celts and Romans. The road in front of the main gate of Notre Dame Cathedral is called "Kilometer Zero". It's all right. Religiously valuable objects, such as the crown of thorns of Jesus, increase the cultural importance of the structure several times.
The Western Front of the cathedral, which has more than one section, such as the Rose Windows, the Virgin Coronation Gate, the Flying Swallows, the Galerie des Chimeres, the Treasury Room, are must-see, priority points.
A major fire broke out in the cathedral on 15 April 2019 at around 18:30 French time. In the fire, the entire roof of the cathedral collapsed and the tower collapsed. After this incident, the structure was closed to visitors. According to the announcement, it will be reopened to visitors after a five-year restoration process. Until then, the structure can only be seen from the outside.
Also, Victor Hugo's book The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a major name in world literature, is one of the things that is identified with this cathedral and is among the masterpieces of the world's classics.
