The Triumphal Jewel
On the Champs-Elysees, the most famous street in the world, is the Triumphal Arch, shown as an architectural masterpiece. The Triumphal Arch, a structure that adorns Charles de Gaulle Square, was built in 1806 by order of Napoleon Bonaparte. It was built in memory of those who died during the World War and it took 30 years to build it.
When viewed from one side of the structure, the historical silhouette of the city is visible. On the other side is a glimpse of modern Paris. Immediately below the structure is a monument called the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The viewing terrace at the top also offers a great view.
Pl. Charles de Gaulle, 75008 Paris, Fransa
