Her sene tekrar tekrar geldiğim yer. 100 bin yaşındaki bu mağara dışarısı ne kadar sıcak olursa olsun her zaman serin. Yazın en sıcaklarda bile tavandaki taşlardan su damladığını görebilirsiniz. Suların damlamasıyla aşağıdaki taşların üzerlerinde oluşan pürüzsüz yüzey ışıltıyla parlıyor. Mağaraya giderken yol demir kapı ile kesilmiş durumda. Araçla devam etmek bu alandan sonra mümkün değil fakat demir kapının sağ tarafından insanların geçebileceği bir alan insanlar tarafından yaratılmış durumda. Burayı geçtikten sonra sizi Marmaris Milli Parkı yazısı karşılıyor ve bu yazıdan sonra yaklaşık 400-500 metre yürüyerek mağaranın girişine ulaşıyorsunuz. İki adet giriş yolu bulunmaktadır. Eğer sağdakinden çıkarsanız merdiven sayısı daha fazla ve mağaranın girişinin biraz üzerine çıkmış oluyorsunuz. Soldaki yol ise daha kısa ve daha az merdiven. Birinden girip diğerinden çıkmanızı tavsiye ederim çünkü her iki yol da kendine has ve güzel. Merdivenlerin sonunda sizi demir bir kapı ve teller karşılıyor. Kapı kapalıysa sağ tarafta eğilip geçebileceğiniz bir yer mevcut. Kapının ardındansa yine merdivenlerle mağaranın en sonuna kadar inebiliyorsunuz. Mağaranın gerçekten ne kadar büyük olduğunu içine girip etrafa baktığınızda anlayabilirsiniz. Tabii her yerde olduğu gibi burada da taşların ve oraya yapılmış korkulukların üzerine kazıdığı ve boya ile adlarını yazdığı yerler çokça var. Keşke olmasa.

Arabayı park ettikten sonra 10-15 dakikalık yürüyüş mesafesi var. 5 Haziran'da gittim. Benden başka sadece bir çift yabancı turist vardı. Marmaris'e gelip ziyaret etmemek büyük bir kayıp değil. Zamanınız ve aracınız varsa ziyaret edilebilir.

Mağara daha iyi bir tanıtım yapılmalı, birde gelen ziyartecilere yon gösterecek tanitim yada tabela konulmalı, arabayi koydum nereye gidecegim diye aramaya başladım. Bulduğumda ama iyiki gelmişim dedim, magara çok görkemli, büyük hala döngüsü devam ediyor ve damlalardan dikit ve sarkitlar oluşmaya devam ediyor.

Mağaranın yaşı sarkıt ve dikitlerden 100.000 yıl olarak tespit edilmiştir. İlk olarak 1998'de kumtaşından iki kadın heykeli bulunmuştur. Artan tahribatı önlemek amacıyla Marmaris Belediyesi öncülüğünde 2007'de kazı çalışmalarına başlanmıştır. Mağarada yapılan kazılarda 12 bin yıl öncesinden kalan insan izlerine rastlanmıştır.
