Features of the Pit Springs Cave
Çukurpınar Cave is a vertical cave formed in limestone. The entrance to the cave is a tunnel 30 meters in diameter and 100 meters deep. After the tunnel, the cave continues vertically for about 400 meters. After -515 meters, it shows a horizontal stretch in a northeasterly direction and ends by narrowing after -1096 meters. Inside, there are various droplet shapes such as pendants, uprights, travertines, curtains, columns, and an emerald-colored lake.

The discovery of Çukurpınar Cave was carried out by BUMAK (Bursa Cave Research Club). The BUMAK team found the entrance to the cave in 1989 and mapped the cave between 1990 and 1991. When they explored the cave, they named the places they found according to their characteristics. For example, they have used names such as glittering galleries, beaded galleries, hanging galleries, stepped galleries, art lakes.
