Öşvank Church is located in Çamlıyamaç Village, Uzundere County. It is famous for its colorful stone decorations and engraved figures. According to the inscription on the front of the entrance to the south cross arm of the Church of Ushvank, it was built between 963 and 973 by Magistras Bagrat, son of Adernese III, during the Georgian Bagrat Dynasty. The large dome of the church, dedicated to John the Baptist, was repaired between 1022 and 1028 by the Byzantine Emperors Basil II and Constantine VII.
