The tomb of Sheikh Edebali, one of the most important historical heritages in Bilecik, is almost identified with the city. Sheikh Edebali, who grew up in the Ahilik tradition and was an Ahi sheikh, is also the father-in-law and mentor of Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman State. As a religious scholar, he is also considered the spiritual founder of the Ottoman State for his mentorship of Osman Gazi ⁇ ye during the founding years of the Ottoman State.
