Urgup is the largest and most populous district of Nevşehir. Urgup bears traces of many civilizations as it is on the road connecting Istanbul and Jerusalem. Among the artifacts from the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods, you can find yourself in history. It's one of those routes where you can't get enough of both the nature and the history. There's no "no" in Urghup because it hosts millions of tourists...

You can take a walk in the Valley of Sadness. Because it was a hiding place for the first Christians, you'll see many historic churches built by the people who lived here.

When you visit the Hanging Mansion, known for its soap operas, you'll experience the show.

In the Sad Valley, you can take a walk through nature and history.

Devrent Hayal (Pink) Valley, where fairy chimneys are gathered and likened to creatures, presents a scene of colorful sunset.

When you come to Urgup, you can also visit the underground city of Mazy.

You can visit the Saruhan Kervan palace from the Seljuks.

You should also see the Urugup Museum, which has been in operation since 1971.

You should definitely go to the Red Hole Valley, which is said to be the best place to watch the sunset in Urghup. You go to the Red Hole Valley during the full moon, and if the weather is clear, you can participate in the "Moon Walk" event.
