Özellikle gidilip görülmesi gereken bir yer mi emin değilim. Diğer yeraltı şehirlerine gittiyseniz burası biraz daha küçük ve mağara gibi. Bir noktasında fotoğraf için ışık çok iyi çıkıyor, onun dışında pek bir numarası yok bence. Önerilen ziyaret süresi 30-45 dakika

Antik adı "Mataza" olan Mazı köyü, Ürgüp'ün 18 km. güneyinde, Kaymaklı yeraltı şehrinin ise 10 km. doğusundadır.Değişik yerlerde 4 girişi tespit edilebilmiştir; asıl girişi düzensiz taşlarla örülmüş koridor sağlamaktadır. Kısa koridordaki iri sürgü taşı, yeraltı şehrinin giriş çıkışını kontrol altına almaktadır. İç kısımdaki küçük oda, sürgü taşının rahat bir şekilde hareket etmesi için yapılmıştır. Yeraltı yerleşiminin geniş alanlarına yayılan ahırlar, diğerlerinden farksızdır. Ahırlardan kısa bir koridor vasıtasıyla yeraltı şehrinin kilisesine ulaşılmaktadır. Bu mekânın girişi sürgü taşı ile kapatılabilmektedir. Kilise apsisi, köşeye oyulmuştur ve cephesi kabartmalarla süslüdür.

Geçiş yerleri ve tüneller çok rahat geçiliyor, içerisi de görülmeye değer. Tanıtım broşüründeki krokisihiç faydalı olmadı 👍🏻 daha açıklayıcı olabilirdi.

Mutlaka gezilmesi gereken yeraltı şehirlerinden birisi. Müze kart ile ücretsiz. 20 dakika içerisinde tüm odalarına girip görebilirsiniz. Diğer yeraltı şehirleri gibi dar çok eğilmenizi gerektiren tünelleri yok. Hak ettiği ilgiyi görememiş, bir çok bölümü toprak altında kalmış bir yer. Buna rağmen turizme kazandırılması çok iyi olmuş. Bölge halkı ise aşırı yardımsever. Arka tarafta giderken bir sürü tepelerin altına kazılmış depolar görmüştüm. Yolda geçen bir amcaya sordum. Yerel halk tapusunu alıp oraları depo olarak kullanıyormuş. Baya da sohbet ettik. Çok mutlu oldum. Umarım bu yeraltı şehrinin kapalı yerlerini de açarlar ve daha büyük bir gezme alanı yaratırlar.
