Derinkuyu veya diğer yeraltı şehirleri gibi yaşama amaçlı yapılmamış. O sebeple çok fazla büyük olmasına ihtiyaç duyulmamış ve bir çok yeri toprak altında kalmış. Müze kart ile ücretsiz olan bu müzeye ulaşım gayet kolay ve park yeri mevcut. Yine ilk girişte ahır, mutfak, oturma odası, erzak depoları, şarap mahzenleri ve tüneller mevcut. Tek kötü yanı, giriş ve çıkışların aynı yerden yapılması, koridorların çok dar olmasından da kaynaklı insanlar girip çıkarken seslenerek tünellere girip çıkabiliyor.
