The Shems-i Sivasi Square Mosque
This mosque, named after Şems-i Sivasi, who is considered to be one of the three suns in Anatolia, was built by Hasan Pasha, one of the viziers of Sultan Süleyman.
The Shems-i Sivasi Square Mosque
The Shems-i Sivasi Square Mosque was built in 1564 by Hasan Pasha, one of the viziers of Sultan Suleiman. Şems-i Sivasi is one of the three umbrellas in Anatolia. He is an important figure in the Turkish-Islamic world. In addition, in the garden of the mosque there is a tomb of the famous martyr, scholar and poet Shemseddin Sivasî and his relatives.
The tomb, built of cut stone with body walls, has an octagonal casing on the outside and is covered with a single dome on top. The dome is covered with green, grooved tiles. The mausoleum consists of two parts. In the first part there is the coffin of Sheikh Shemseddin Sivasî, in the second part there are twenty coffins belonging to family members, grandchildren.
