The Tombs of the Assyrian Kings
The Tombs of the Assyrian Kings
It is located about 1,500 meters south of the castle, at the northeastern end of the Dicle River, on the banks of the Dicle Dam. According to the records, these tombs are known to belong to the Assyrian and Armenian kings of Surp. The tombs were carved out of rock in the shape of Egyptian Ehrams. They're shaped like empty rooms. There's a human figure carved over the graves. The six cubes are made in the form of a cylinder with the top sitting on the cube and a cone placed at the end of the cylinder. Just opposite the tombs, on the other side of the river Dicle, there is a pyramid tomb carved into the rocks. Regarding this tomb, there is a belief among the people that it was built in memory of the widowed daughter of a king who had gone from Egil to Egypt and the daughter of the king of Egypt. Next to this pyramid is another human figure and a very dull book that is impossible to read.
