The Underground City of the Black Eyed Peas
The underground city of Saratli Kırkgöz, which is believed to be 7 floors high, attracts three times as many tourists as it can be visited. The underground city, whose architectural features are estimated to have been built in the Byzantine period, has a total of 40 rooms, such as toilets, bathrooms, cellars, cellars, barns, where connections between spaces are provided by corridors. It is of great importance because of its multifunctional and functional features, which are designed in such a way that large groups of people can live for a long time, with many impressive parts, such as safety doors made of sliding millstones carved in such a way that outsiders cannot understand them. In peacetime, the inhabitants of Cappadocia lived in their homes just above the underground city, using the fields and the church, and in times of war or invasion, they entered the underground cities through secret passages built into the floors of the houses. Along with its landscaping and lighting, the Underground City of Saratli Kırkgöz is one of the major tourist attractions of Cappadocia due to its location at the entrance, ease of touring, integrity and good preservation. The museum card is valid in the Black-Eyed Underground City.
