Erdek is located in Erdek Bay on the Kapıdağ Peninsula of the Marmara Region, which extends towards the Sea of Marmara. It consists of the Kapıdağ Peninsula, formerly known as Arktonnesos, and the surrounding Marmara, Paşalimanı, Türkeli (Avşa), Ekinlik Islands to the north and west.

The gate is a triangular peninsula of about 300 m2 in the middle of the southern coast of the Sea of Marmara. With a long coastline, the beaches of Erdek ⁇ in are generally sandy and natural beaches. It is also covered with forests and is entirely a game reserve. The chestnut and olive trees stand out. The height above sea level is 0-10 m.

Its economy is based on agriculture, fishing and tourism. The main agricultural products are olives, red onions and wheat. In addition, cherries, dried beans, peppers, apples, plums, and tobacco are grown. It's one of our busiest tourist districts.

Erdek, Bandırma and Gönen are connected to Istanbul-Ankara, Izmir and Bursa.
