The Island of Olives
The Olive Island is located in the direction of the Port of Erdek overlooking Avşa and Marmara Island. This small piece of island, just 250 meters offshore from the harbor, is home to a history much bigger than itself. The island's area is about eight acres, but among the structures on it is a surprising amount of architecture, from a baptistery to a monastery, from two baths to four churches. Unfortunately, since excavation work on the island began as recently as 2006, not enough data on its history has been generated; however, M. It is thought to have a history dating back to 4000 BC.
