The Island of Madness
The Island of Madness
At the end of the Pine Bay, at the top of the Devil's Table, the Island of Madness is of great interest because of its interesting rocks. We can say that it attracted attention not only with these interesting rocks, but also with its name. On the island, which the Turks call the "Stone Monastery" and the Greeks call the "Insane Island", there is a small stone monastery. Apart from the arched windows and the corridor in the rear, no other part of the monastery has survived. It's already in pretty bad shape. Let's talk a little bit about how the island got its name, which has attracted a lot of attention due to the fact that the rocks in this interesting structure buzzed with the wind and made a strange sound. In ancient times, the island was used as a psychotherapy center, bringing in and dropping off people who drank too much or had mental disorders. Later, with the sound of these rocks, those who came to their senses would mingle with the people again. The people who weren't immediately impressed stayed here a little longer, listening to the sound against the scenery. Well, it's said that his name comes from this story.
