Winter sports in the Palandöken
Winter sports in the Palandöken
In our country, most people think of snow when they think of Erzurum. In a city with 150 days of snow, there is a natural environment for winter sports. The Palandöken Mountains, which cover an area of 70 km long and 25 km wide south of the city center, were declared a Winter Tourism Center in 1993.
In 2011, the Universiade 2011 Erzurum Winter Games were held and with this arrangement, many facilities for winter sports were invested in the city. Due to the beauty and development of these facilities, the 2017 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival was also held in Erzurum.
Erzurum, where the ski centers Palandöken, Konaklı and Kandilli are located, serves winter tourism with ice halls and jumping towers. In Erzurum, where snowfall occurs in October-November, the ski season begins in November and lasts until the end of April.
When you come to Erzurum, all you have to do is meet and do the winter sport of your choice.
