The House of Culture of Muğla
The House of Culture of Muğla
Located in Sheikh Mahallesi and nationalized by the Municipality of Muğla in 1999, the history of the structure dates back to the 1800s. The structure, which formerly belonged to the Cherefli family, has a feature that reflects both Turkish and Greek architecture together. When you enter the House of Culture, the traces of the past embrace you. There is an inner courtyard at the entrance and an open sofa on the ground floor, and a closed wooden cumba on the upper floor. The rooms of the Muğla House of Culture are built in such a way that they open to sofas. In 2003, the restoration was completed and opened to the public in the Mugla House of Culture, which has been transformed into a place where cultural activities are organized in addition to local clothing and items.
