The Old Mosque, built in 1414, was built at the request of Emir Suleiman, son of Yıldırım Bayezid. The interior of the mosque, which has nine domes, covers a total area of 2116 square meters. The two glorious minarets were later added to the plan at the request of Sultan Mehmet Khan of Çelebi, while the single glorious minaret mosque has existed since the time it was first planned. Since some of the Ottoman kings were surrounded by swords in this mosque, the imams started the tradition of coming out with swords to read the sermon on Fridays. No imam has wanted to come to the pulpit of the mosque to show his personal respect since Hajj Bayram Veli's sermon.
