Monument to the First Martyrs
On November 3, 1914, the Seddülbahir Fortress was bombed by a large fleet of powerful ships. As a result of the explosion of the ammunition depot inside the fortress, 86 of our soldiers, our first casualties in the Battle of Çanakkale, were martyred. The monument was built in 1986 in memory of our soldiers lost during this attack.
