The Archaeological Museum of Mersin
In addition to the halls where the works will be exhibited, the Mersin Archaeological Museum, which provides the physical conditions that make it possible to carry out contemporary museum activities, also includes social areas such as temporary exhibition halls, archaeopark practice areas for children, a library, a gift shop, and a cafeteria. A total of 1,435 artifacts are on display in the museum. Visitors have the opportunity to take a journey through history in the time tunnel on the entrance floor, to observe how civilizations developed and what they were able to do in the chronological exhibition hall, to learn about the burial traditions of the dead in different cultures in the area of the cult of the dead, to see a replica of the Huğ House near Yumuktepe Hill in the ethnographic hall, alongside the ethnographic artifacts used by people from the past to the present.
