The museum of Anamur
The museum has units such as the department of ethnographic and archaeological artifacts, a library, a photography room, a laboratory, a conservation and an art gallery. The archaeological section exhibits artifacts from the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. The golden diadem with an embossed motif found in the excavation in Bozyazı; the golden objects of the Byzantine structure with 36 pieces found in the Necropolis of Anamur, the bronze Athena, the cantar weight, are among the important works of the Museum. With rich mosaic examples of plant and geometric human figures, most of which contain mythological scenes, excavated in Anamur, the Lekitos, dating from the 6th century BC and found in Aydıncık, the most beautiful applications of the red and black figure technique, stone books, millstones, sculptures and reliefs from the baked earth of the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods, examples of candles with human faces found in the Anamur excavations, examples of plant decoration and animal figuration, such as the stone being processed into a lace, are exhibited in the Filter. The Museum exhibits the most beautiful applications of the red and black figure technique found in Aydıncık, the Lekitos, the stone book of the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods, the milestones, the sculptures and reliefs from the baked earth of the stone, the examples of candles with human faces found in the excavations of Anamur, the examples of plant decoration and stone processing with animal figures where the stone is processed like a lace.
