The Kaman Japanese Garden
The Kaman Japanese Garden
The Japanese garden is located in the Kaman district of the city. It was built by the Japan Middle East Cultural Center in 1993 to commemorate the launch of the excavations of Kalehöyük by His Highness Prince Takahito Mikasa and to create a recreational area for the people of the region.
The Japanese garden is the largest botanical garden outside of Japan and attracts more and more visitors every year. It is arranged in the style of a Japanese garden and offers visitors a piece of Japanese culture and aesthetics. Like Japanese gardens in many parts of our country, the trees in them have different types and characteristics. With its endemic trees, this garden offers a special visual feast in the spring. Thanks to the cleanliness and clarity of its ponds, you can easily see the fish and creatures that live in it. It's a natural wonder where you can go to rest your soul and get some calm fresh air. There are no picnic areas inside. Picnics are forbidden. Admission is free.
If you don't have a car, you can take the Kaman County buses from downtown. There are no accommodations or recreational facilities.
It houses the Kalehöyük Museum. In 2018, Japanese Princess Akiko Mikasa visited the Kalehöyük excavation site in the Kaman district of Kırşehir, the Japanese Anatolian Archaeological Institute, the Japanese Garden and the Kalehöyük Archaeological Museum.
