The Seife Lake
Lake Seyfe, one of the few salt lakes in Central Anatolia, is one of the most important wetlands not only in Turkey but also in the world as a place for birds to stay, breed and feed. This lake, home to about 320,000 flamingos, is home to hundreds of thousands of ducks during the autumn season. In spring and summer, flamingos can also be spotted in many parts of the lake. The lake, which was declared a nature reserve in 1990, is also a first-degree natural site. Twenty-seven species of birds found in the lake have been listed by the International Council for the Conservation of Birds , and these declining species are protected by the Bern Convention .
