The Museum of the Seven Prisoners
The Yedikule Dungeons, the oldest open-air museum in Turkey, were built during the Byzantine period to mourn important guests from other countries. In the Byzantine period, there were four towers, and in the Ottoman period, three more were added, turning it into an institution where punishments were executed. Each of the seven towers has a different name. These are the Young Ottoman Tower, the Armory Tower, III. The tower of Ahmed, the tower of treasure, the tower of dungeon, the tower of cannon and the tower of flag. One of the highlights of the Seventh Dungeon is the blood well. This well, where the heads of the executed were thrown, is located in the Young Ottoman Tower and can still be seen.
