After being used as the Istanbul Radio House between 1927 and 1936, the PTT Museum, Rahmi M. Koç Museum and the Grand Post Office building were completely allocated to postal and telegraph services in 1958. The building, which today serves as the Istanbul European Side PTT Headquarters, contains the Sirkeci PTT Center, a full-fledged post office on the ground floor. Inside the building there is also a museum reflecting the country's history of communications and telecommunications. Gezerken heyecan, hüzün, mutluluk... gibi bir çok farklı duyguyu bir arada yaşadığım bir yapıdır. Pul koleksiyonu olduğu günlerde ziyaret etmiş bulundum ve armağan olarak bırakılan kartlardan aldım. Bunlar beni sevdiğim birine yeniden kart atmak için teşvik etti. Üstelik bu üzerine pullar yapıştırdığım kraft bir zarf oldu. İnanılmaz bir duygu. Çocukluğumu geri almış gibiydim. Orada olun! Mimar Vedat Tek'in bu ilk ve nostaljik eserini ziyaret etmekle kalmayın onu yaşayın!

Keyifli bir müze, çok fazla eser yok. Geçmiş dönemlerdeki iletişim araçlarını, telefon, telgraf posta pulu gibi pek çok değişik iletişim aracını görebiliyorsunuz. Geçmişten günümüze nasıl değişimler olduğunu görmek insanı hayretler içinde bırakıyor.

Dış cephesi tadilatından dolayı ziyarete kapalı. Daha önce içini görme imkanı olanlar şanslı. Son yüzyıl yapılarından. Tadilattan sonra inşaallah satılmaz.

Hafta içi açık olan müzede oldukça büyük. Sadece pullara bakmak bir gün alabilir :) Giriş ücretsiz. İçeride fotoğraf çekmesi yasak. Görülmesi gereken müzelerden.
