The rounded column
It is located in Çemberlitaş, one of the seven hills of Istanbul, under the old name of Constantine's Column. The column was created by stacking a total of 8 columns and a pedestal, each weighing 3 tons and connected by bracelets 3 meters in diameter. The column in memory of Emperor Constantine has been repaired many times over the years. After the conquest of Istanbul, the cross on it was lowered, and because it was damaged in a fire, it was reinforced by wrapping it around with iron circles. That's why it's called a circle.
