The Memorial to the Children Murdered in the Siege of Sarajevo is a memorial to the 1,621 children killed in Sarajevo under siege from 1992 to 1995. The monument consists of two glass statues 5 and 3 meters high in the middle of a bronze ring; the bronze ring represents the circle in which Sarajevo was kept under siege for about four years, while the glass statues, separated from each other but still leaning against each other with their ends, symbolize a mother who desperately wants to protect her child in the war.
