The next stop is Počitelj, the first village founded by the Turks in Bosnia, also known as the "Stone Village". Founded in 1383 during the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and remaining under Ottoman rule for 415 years, the village has the distinction of being the last fortress of the Ottomans in the Balkans. Due to the presence of Bosniaks in the village, the village was heavily damaged when it was looted by Croats in 1993. Počitelj, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, has been completely restored. In Počitelj, with its streets, roads, mosque, houses, roofs and castle made entirely of stone, what you should not do before returning is to climb to the castle and admire the view of the Neretva River in lush nature.
