About the history of Gaziantep; The history of Gaziantep was written by M. Oh, my God. It dates back to 5600 years and the city is considered to be one of the oldest cities in the world.

Gaziantep has been home to many different civilizations due to its geographical location. The city has existed since prehistoric times between Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean. Before the Seljuk invasion of Anatolia in 1071, the city was ruled by the Persians, Alexander the Great, the Romans and the Byzantines.

The importance of Gaziantep in our recent history is also very great. The city, where thousands of people were martyred in the liberation struggle, received the title of Gazi thanks to the example of heroism it showed. Because it has a very special place in the heart of Atatürk, Atatürk took his population to this city as an honor.

The most famous historical sites of Gaziantep are undoubtedly the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, where magnificent mosaics are exhibited. The symbolic historical structure of Gaziantep is definitely the Gaziantep Castle. Not to mention, of course, the city's other magnificent museums and historic markets, such as the Chain Carpet and the Copper Market.
