Shakerji Khan was one of the important centers of knowledge of the time, where the path of many important personalities passed from Mehmet Akif to Neyzen Tevfik, from Eşref Edip to Bedüzzaman. It was built by Khan Fatih Sultan Mehmet and served for more than 500 years. There are about 100 rooms of the Khan, which is located right next to the Fatih Mosque in Malta's bazaar. There's no entrance to the now-abandoned Han.
