Behramkale Village is a former Ottoman village located within the walls of the Ancient City of Assos. Its ancient name is also known as Behram or Assos.

Because of the new construction ban, the village preserves its historical atmosphere with 150 houses. Due to this, only the old buildings can be restored. The history of Assos dates back to the Bronze Age, according to the information obtained from the remains excavated in the area. The ancient city of Assos is located at the top of the village. The houses in the village were built using Andesite stone work. Although the ancient city was oriented to the south, the village was oriented to the north.
